Unfortunately, like other parking operators and public authorities, we continue to see attempts at fraud involving both fake text messages and telephone calls made in our name.
The text messages appear in an ever-growing number of variations, ranging from very short messages to lengthy and sophisticated ones containing detailed instructions on what recipients should do and what may happen if they fail to pay. Some of the latest versions even offer a discount for prompt payment. Examples of these messages can be found at the bottom of this page.
A common feature of all fraudulent messages is that the sender encourages the recipient to click on a link to obtain further information or make a payment. These links lead to fake payment websites designed to steal banking and payment card details. Unfortunately, these fraudulent websites can easily be mistaken for Q-Park’s genuine website, although the web address will typically look unusual.
The individuals behind these fraudulent messages are constantly improving their ability to imitate the websites of Q-Park and other organisations. If you click on a link in one of these fake text messages, you may be directed to a website that looks remarkably similar to the genuine one.
The fraudsters are highly skilled at replicating both the design and language used by legitimate organisations, making it increasingly difficult to identify that a website is fake.
One of the clearest indications that a website is fraudulent is an unusual-looking web address. Q-Park’s website and all associated pages will always begin with www.q-park.dk. Fraudulent websites, however, typically use suspicious addresses such as q-parkdk.dd or q-parki-dk.org.
Q-Park only sends text messages to customers to confirm that they have registered their parking and have been issued with a temporary parking permit.
We never request payment details via text message and we do not send links for payment.
For some customers, these fraudulent text messages may appear in the same message thread as genuine communications previously received from us regarding parking permits. However, neither the calls nor the text messages originate from Q-Park, and the associated websites are not operated by us.
We strongly encourage all recipients to remain vigilant and exercise caution.
If you receive such a text message, you should delete it immediately and avoid clicking on any links. Likewise, any telephone calls conveying similar messages should be ignored.
Even if a payment does not go through on a fraudulent website, it is essential never to enter your payment card details.
The sole purpose of these fake websites is to obtain and misuse your card information. If you have entered your details, it is crucial that you contact your bank immediately so that your card can be blocked and any potential fraud can be prevented.
