Kunsten Museum of Modern Art Aalborg is located centrally on Kong Christians Allé 50. Designed by Alvar and Elissa Aalto, the museum is a bright architectural masterpiece clad in white marble.
Inside, you’ll find more than 4,000 works by Danish and international artists from the 20th century onwards. In addition to changing exhibitions, the museum hosts over 200 events annually – including talks, concerts, and workshops for both children and adults. Between 2014 and 2016, Kunsten underwent an extensive renovation, adding new teaching spaces, a shop, and Brasserie Kunsten.
The surroundings also feature a large sculpture park, where in summer you can enjoy the beautiful architecture and even dip your feet in the fountain. Brasserie Kunsten serves coffee, cakes, and seasonal dishes in cosy surroundings – with no entry fee for non-museum guests.
