Daylight saving time falls in the middle of Easter – remember to set your car’s clock before the parking disc plays its own Easter pranks
This Sunday, 29 March at 02:00, we move the clocks forward to daylight saving time. This year, the time change lands right in the middle of Easter lunches, paper-cut letters, and visits from the Easter Bunny – making it even easier to overlook one small but important detail: the time on your car’s clock.
Many of us don’t get around to adjusting the car’s clock until long after the rest of the house has switched to summertime.
But if the car’s clock is wrong, there’s also a risk that the parking disc will show wintertime. That can result in a control fee – and that’s a kind of Easter letter few people want.
That’s why Q-Park is once again reminding all motorists to take a moment to check both the car’s clock and the parking disc before the Easter celebrations take over.
Electronic parking disc? Check it anyway
Even though many electronic parking discs adjust automatically, not all of them do. A quick check during the Easter holidays can save you both time and frustration – and possibly a control fee.
Q-Park: Parking attendants rely on what the parking disc shows
“Our task is to ensure the correct use of parking spaces where we carry out enforcement,” says Q-Park’s Managing Director, Alex Pedersen.
“Our control fee agents can only rely on what the parking disc shows. That’s why we encourage all motorists to be extra attentive around the switch to summertime – especially this year, when it’s easy to forget in the middle of all the Easter fun.”
Normal staffing – including during Easter
Q-Park’s staffing is, of course, unaffected by either Easter or the switch to daylight saving time. Parking enforcement is carried out with the same staffing level as any other Sunday – no more, no less.
Before gathering the family for Easter lunch or heading out to enjoy the spring weather, take a moment to make sure your car is also running on summertime.
It’s a small thing that can save you unnecessary costs – and help ensure a good start to the spring.
