On the afternoon of 19 March 2026, our staff discovered that unknown individuals had installed a so called skimming device – in the form of a wireless card reader – on top of the contactless card reader of our pay stations at our parking facility at Kulturhustorvet in Lyngby.
It is our assumption that the purpose was to capture card information from customers using the contactless reader. Unfortunately, we are unable to determine whether the attempt was successful or, if so, to what extent. Likewise, we cannot say precisely which customers may have been affected.
Below you can see, on the left, what the card reader normally looks like, and on the right, the appearance with the wireless skimmer placed over it.

The incident was immediately reported to the police, all available material has been handed over to them, and we are cooperating with the police on the ongoing proceedings
The incident has also been reported to the Danish Data Protection Agency.
We have initiated a thorough inspection of all our pay stations across the country, and we have instructed our operations staff and attendants to be especially vigilant at our sites and to report any suspicious activity immediately. We are also working on various measures to reduce the risk of similar incidents in the future.
At Q-Park it is important to us that customers feel safe when using our parking facilities, including our parking solutions. We therefore take this matter extremely seriously and are very sorry if this criminal incident may have affected any of our customers.
